Now is the time to become a member !! If you are a Model A Ford owner, or just thinking about becoming an owner we would welcome you into our club. We are always happy to talk about Model A's, give advice about Model A's (sometimes competing advice too -- its free you know!) to anybody that wants to listen. Dues are only $20 per year and you get to meet a bunch of nice people. Heck you can even come to our meetings and forget about the dues! We are an active club organizing tours from the day trip to the extended tour (i.e. Blue Ridge Parkway, MARC National meets etc.).
There's no excuse to not have fun!

June 23, 2018 Blue Ridge Parkway Tour

We started out early morning from Washington, NC to Waynesboro, VA for our first leg of our Blue Ridge Parkway Tour. We had numerous shakedown stops to make repairs. One thing we all learned was no matter how well you think your Model A is performing, there is nothing like a trip to point out areas of need or attention. It took us just about 11 hours to get to our planned stop. Not knowing that this BlogSpot would be created, I didn't take many notes or pictures along the way, HOWEVER after the long drive I did take a picture of a very important fluid that was needed.
June 24 we started our Blue Ridge Parkway adventure at Afton Mountain going south. Below is our first photo stop picture. Very beautiful!
Our next stop was the Natural Bridge State Park.

Then it was off to the Peaks of Otter Lodge and we experienced a beautiful sunrise over the Peaks of Otter.
Now June 25th we ventured into Bedford VA to visit the National D-Day Memorial.
Our next stop was at the Woodbury Hotel in Meadows of Dan which is right on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Its a nice little hotel that has seen its better days, but was very pleasant. The following morning we ventured along the Parkway to Mabry Mill for breakfast. Here are our Model A's lined up in their parking lot.
Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the Mill because it was a drizzly morning, but for those that have never seen Mabry Mill the following are some images.
So off we go after breakfast down the foggy Blue Ridge Parkway to our next stop to stay for a few days in Blowing Rock, NC.
And later that day after the fog had lifted.
Once we arrived in Blowing Rock we had to venture into town for some well deserved Kilwin's Ice Cream (home of the second best fudge in the world too).
June 27 we venture to the Moses Cone Manor. The entire estate is one of the most heavily visited areas along the Parkway and is home to the Parkway Craft Center.
The view from the porch.
Later we head off to Grand Father Mountain to test our 90 something year old vehicles!

And proof that we made it up the mountain (the handsome guy is behind the camera)
And across the gangway to the peak.

Picture of our Model A's from the peak.

And a few as we leave.

And we left just in time!!
Actually this a picture of a picture inside the gift shop....luckily we weren't there when this fella wanted to shop. On our last day we went to "The Blowing Rock" where legend has it that a despondent Indian brave -- torn between his crush on an Indian maiden and his manly responsibilities -- threw himself to certain death off of this rocky precipice. The maiden prayed at the outcropping until the brave was blown back into her arms!

None of us wanted to test the effectiveness of the Blowing Rock to blow us back!
The next day we headed home from a great adventure. We traveled approximately 1,200 miles on this Blue Ridge Parkway excursion.

May 12, 2018 AACA New Bern Car Show

A few of our Coastal Carolina Club members lent a hand to the New Bern First Capital AACA Chapter. Was a great day to explore all kinds of vintage and classic cars. Beautiful weather too.

September 23, 2017 Day tripping around Bath, NC

Since this is a new blog, the following are a few pictures of an outing our club organized last year.

The outing was to a family farm where the owner (below) was into collecting all sorts of historical items. It was an amazing collection.
Several of us after the tour used the Aurora Ferry to get home. That in itself was fun.
